A suspect has been arrested in connection with Takeoff's incident.
A 33-year-old man has been taken into custody and charged
with murder in the fatal shooting of Migos rapper Takeoff outside a Houston
bowling alley last month, the Houston Police Department announced during a news
conference. on Friday.
Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested in Houston on Thursday
night. Allegedly there is another man involved known as Cameron Joshua, who was
arrested as well. Cameron Joshua was first detained on a gun charge, Chief Troy
Finner said. Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was unfortunately attacked after
a private party at 810 Billiards & Bowling. An argument ensued and shots
were fired from at least two guns after the party ended, police said.
Takeoff was unarmed and not part of the discussion. About 30
people were at the scene at the time of the shooting and nearly all left
without giving a statement to police, according to investigators. The Harris
County coroner said Takeoff died as a result of "penetrating gunshot
wounds to the head and torso Takeoff in the arm".
After his death, his label Quality Control Music released a
statement in which they mourned the devastating loss and attributed Takeoff's
death to "senseless violence and a stray bullet".
Family members, friends, fans, and his community gathered together
to say the last bye-bye and also honor Takeoff's life during a star-studded
memorial at Atlanta's State Farm Arena, which featured tributes from Offset,
Quavo, and Drake, and many others.
